INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADDING A NEW REVIEW 1. Click "Author Login" on the Shotgun Review homepage (under "Author Tools"). 2. Enter your Username (which is your First & Last name - first letter of each Capitalized) and Password in the text boxes and click "Log In." 3. Once you've successfully logged in you can post a review. 4. Enter the name of the exhibition or event you've reviewed under "Exhibition Title" 5. Next choose a Category. This should be the name of the site or exhibition space. If you don't see your space in the list, choose "Add New Category" at the very bottom of the list. A window will pop open, enter the name of the exhibition space and click "Save" 6. In the text window called "Your Full Review" enter your review. To create special text formatting (Bold, Italic ctc), highlight a piece of text and click the tools at the top of the text window. It will create html tags for you... 7. You can also optionally include links in your Review Box. A full address (e.g. "http://www.somewebsite.com") will be automatically turned into an active link. 8. Down below the box for inputting your review, you'll see a box that says "Image". Click "Browse" or "Choose File" (depending on your browser) and find a jpg file at 72 dpi and no more than 500 pixels wide on your computer. 9. Once you're finished scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "SAVE." You can still make changes to your posting after saving it BUT PLEASE NOTE that your FIRST SAVE will be send out to the subscribers list. Be sure to click SAVE again after making any changes. 10. You'll notice that the default setting for a new entry is "Unpublished." This appears in a small pull-down window near the SAVE button. This will allow you to save your work without it being made public. You must save your entry as Unpublished at least once before publishing. When you're ready to make your work public, change this to "Publish" and SAVE. 11. Now go to the Shotgun Review homepage and hit RELOAD on your browser to view your posting. ADVANCED IMAGE UPLOADING NOTE: Prior to uploading your image, please open your image in Photoshop (or another image editor) and resize it to 72dpi and a maximum of 500 pixels wide (the image pixel-height can vary). Images should be saved as ".jpg" at Medium to High quality. 1. While viewing your review, click "UPLOAD FILE" from the left toolbar. This will open a new window. 2. Click "Browse..." and find and choose the image on your computer. 3. Now click "UPLOAD" and wait a moment while the image uploads. It will automatically jump to the next page when the upload is complete. 4. Now choose "Show me the HTML" at the top (instead of "Create a new entry...") and click "EMBEDDED IMAGE" at the bottom of the window. 5. Now Copy/Paste this text into the "Your Full Review" Text window back in the Entry (main review area) Window. Make sure to leave space above and below the image code. 6. Add a caption or image credit. 7. Click the "SAVE" button on the bottom of the page.
